RBK INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL SENSITISATION, 17TH AUGUST 2017

Dear Readers,

Some of you may already know about our sensitisation talks, for those of you who are new to this at Toybank we try to spread awareness about the work we do by giving sensitisation talks at various organisations.

This includes a brief description about our organisation and how the listeners as individuals can contribute towards our cause. Our most recent collaboration was with RBK International Academy.

The first meeting was held on 10th August 2017 at RBK International School. The attendees were Ms. Rashmi Talreja and Ms. Sonya Sapani.  The agenda of this meeting was to explain to them, Toybank’s work and process of collaboration with International Schools as a part of their program. This is our first year with RBK International and they have already agreed to have students from the sixth grade volunteer for us. The area option given to them was our centers of Mankhurd region as travelling to this region is convenient for the children.

On 17th August 2017 we did a sensitisation session at the school for 130 children. The session was conducted by our founder, Ms. Shweta Chari. Shweta spoke about Toybank’s Journey, history and future plans, also emphasising the importance of play. It was amazing to see that the secondary school kids were so attentive during the entire session and were super interactive during the Q&A round. The questions that came from them were an indication of their sympathy and empathy towards the other kids. The answers provided by these students showed that they put a lot of thought into it. By the end of the Q&A session, a lot of these students were motivated to help us out. Therefore, we ended the session by explaining to them about the toy collection drive.

We look forward to hosting the drive soon and hope that everyone will be willing to part with some of their toys to provide a little bit of happiness to some of these underprivileged children. We also discussed with the school about hosting a mock play session for the 6th graders by our welfare manager. We are yet to confirm the dates for this session but we hope to conduct it soon. We know that it will be an absolute pleasure to interact with these children again.

Cheers to RBK International for having such an amazing group of students!
