Toybankers from Aditya Birla World Academy...

Toybank conducted a sensitization talk for the 7th Grade students at Aditya Birla World Academy, on the 16th of March. These students visited Salaam Baalak Trust – our to be Play Centre, to interact with the children there and teach them craft work on the following day.

Here’s a reflective experience of students from 7th Grade...
“Have you ever wondered how life would be if you weren’t as privileged as you are? Up until now, we, the students of grade 7 had not realized that we have everything we demand for. We have parents who fulfill every need. Right from  education to the materialistic items that we wish for. Our trip to the Salaam Baalak Trust has helped us realize how fortunate we are and how we take things for granted. The children at Salaam Baalak are an inspiration as they are so happy and satisfied with the little they own.
    We all students of grade 7 with Ms Mandeep, Sir Mahadeo and Ms Sheetal gathered in school on Saturday morning with all the zest and enthusiasm to go and do some social service using our craft and drawing skills. Under the able guidance of Ms Poornima, we conducted simple craft activities like pen holders, cards, book marks etc with drawing and  mirror work etc. We sang prayers for them and the children sang the national anthem.

  The children were all so excited and happy to do the craft and drawing with us. Especially the siver pens, glue sticks and coloured papers brightened up their faces. They all followed instructions very attentively and worked well in teams. We all spent good 2 hours which is an unforgettable memory for all of us. We all even played football with them.  When it was time for us to leave each child hugged us with crest fallen expressions on their faces. “Didi, you will come again, naa?” asked one, I just smiled. And we propose to go there again as the boys have planned to play football with them for next programme”
